Pocket Laps started as a group chat where four of us kept sending each other links to games we couldn't stop playing on the bus. At some point the recommendations got long enough that a website made more sense than another wall of messages.

We focus on arcades and racing games because that's what we genuinely enjoy, but we cover adventures, RPGs, strategy and the occasional card game too. If it runs on a phone and it's fun, it's fair game.

Every game we write about gets played, not skimmed. We put real hours in, usually on mid-range devices, because that's what most people actually own. If a game stutters or drains the battery in twenty minutes, you'll hear about it.

Nobody pays us to be nice. Our reviews reflect what the editorial team thought after playing, full stop.
