Hollow Vale Journey is a gentle exploration adventure with no combat and no timers pushing you along. You wander a hand-drawn valley, solve light environmental puzzles, and slowly uncover what happened to the people who lived there. It's the kind of game you play with the sound up.
The puzzles never got frustrating for me; they're the sort where the answer feels obvious once you notice the right detail. The real draw is the atmosphere, all soft music and watercolor landscapes.
It's short, maybe four hours, and it doesn't overstay its welcome. I'd rather have a tight four hours than a padded twelve, and this is a lovely evening or two.
